What is Double Up Food Bucks?

Double Up Food Bucks allows SNAP/EBT users to double their purchases of fresh fruits and veggies at Bluff Country Co-op. This brings more healthy food to families who need it, while supporting our local farmers who grow it!

How Does it Work?

Current SNAP users can easily get enrolled in the program at check out. Our POS system tracks purchases of fresh fruits and veggies and gives you credit toward fresh fruit and veggie purchases on your next shopping trip! Easy peasy.

About The Program

Double Up Food Bucks is about creating access to healthy food and it started in Michigan in 2009. Double Up Food Bucks has since expanded to over 25 states. It was launched to get more healthy food on tables for families in need while also supporting local producers. Bluff Country Co-op is the first store in Minnesota to offer Double Up Food Bucks to SNAP/EBT users.

How It’s Funded

Double Up Food Bucks is funded by shopper donations made through our Round Up at the Register campaigns. Donations in any dollar amount can also be made to DUFB at any time of the year outside of our Register Round Ups. 100% of the proceeds raised for the Double Up Food Bucks program are used right here in our store.

FAQ’s

  • How do I earn and redeem Double Up Food Bucks?

    SNAP/EBT users are eligible. Ask your cashier to enroll you and our POS system will begin tracking your purchases of fresh fruits and veggies. A credit will automatically be applied on your next shopping trip to your fresh fruits and veggies purchases!

  • Do I have to be an owner to participate?

    No, you do not need to be an owner to participate or shop at Bluff Country Co-op.  All SNAP users are eligible to receive Double Up Food Bucks.

  • Can I redeem Double Up vouchers on sale items?

    Yes. Double Up Food Bucks are redeemable on all fresh produce.

  • When can I redeem my Double Up Food Bucks?

    You can use Double Up Food Bucks on any future shopping trip at the Co-op. Our cashier will ask if you would like to apply your credits toward your fresh fruit and veggies purchases. 

  • Do my Double Up Food Bucks earnings expire?

    No, they do not expire. As long as we are doing the program, the accrued DUFB funds will not expire.

  • Is there a limit to the amount of Double Up Food Bucks I can earn?

    There is no limit on how much you can accrue with purchases in one day. There IS a limit on how much you can redeem in one day though: $20.
