Bluff Country Coop Community Fund

Community Giving

The Bluff Country Co-op offers a variety of Community Giving programs to support the incredible work that Winona area non-profits do to make our community stronger. The BCC has three Community Giving programs, including:

  • Beans for Bags: Our Beans for Bags program celebrates sustainability and local organizations. Every time a customer uses a reusable bag for their groceries they receive one bean per bag to place in a mason jar displayed near the checkout. There are four mason jars and each jar represents an area organization. For each bean placed in the jar, we will donate five cents to that organization. To suggest an organization to be a recipient of our Beans for Bags program, send us an email at info@bluff.coop.
  • Community Fund: The Bluff Country Co-op Community Fund offers customers a way to make tax-deductible donations to benefit cooperatives around the country and non-profits in our community. The interest from all donations is pooled throughout the year and provided back to the BCC to donate directly to area non-profits. For more information about the Community Fund and how it works, click on the link below.
  • Community Donations: One of the seven cooperative principles is “concern for community.” Bluff Country Co-op strives to support our community by donating time, food, and money. This takes many forms, such as hosting a teen cooking class, bringing our “smoothie bike” to an area event, or partnering with the local food shelf and Catholic Worker House on food rescue initiatives. Double Up Food Bucks

Available at Bluff Country Co-op! SNAP card holders can double their purchases of fresh fruit and veggies. This brings healthy food to families who need it, while supporting our local farmers who grow it! learn more about the program at the link below.
