Expansion projects are complicated, time-consuming, and demanding. What’s more, extensive knowledge and experience are key resources for prudent decision-making. Bluff Country Co-op is fortunate to have a stellar General Manager, excellent board members, and a hard-working staff through this process, but we are also working with National Co+op Grocers (NCG) and its subsidiary, Development Co+operative (DC), for assistance and consulting on expansion issues.
National Co+op Grocers is a business services cooperative for retail food co-ops. In 2008, NCG created the DC subsidiary to provide specific business development services for retail food co-ops in the areas of business improvement and expansion and new store development. DC brings experience and expertise to helps co-ops with store expansions and developments by assisting in site selection, lease negotiations, store designs, the store opening, and post-opening monitoring.
