Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our register round up for Double Up Food Bucks during the month of December 2021. We have so much appreciation for our amazing Co-op community! Stay tuned as we move forward to implement the program here at BCC.
What is Double Up Food Bucks?
It is incentive for SNAP users to double the amount of produce they buy. Fore example: if a SNAP user spends $10 in produce, they get a voucher at the register for $10 to spend on produce the next time they visit the store.
Double Up Food Bucks is funded through grants and donations for each individual store. This is not a government program. Every dollar donated is staying right here in the store for the Double Up Food Bucks program.
The Board stipulated that we need $10,000 before we can implement the program in the store. We are hoping to begin offering vouchers in the spring of 2022. For the first Round Up At The Register, our goal is $2,000
Double Up Food Bucks started in Michigan in 2009 and is currently in over 25 states. Bluff Country Co-op would be the first store in the state to implement this program!
